Baconfest

Event Preview by Everyday Activist X CalgaryMovies.com

I know why is a vegetarian activist talking about bacon? OK hint think Bacon and movies. Kevin Bacon did you say? Close. We're actually talking about his dad, the only urban planner to make the cover of Time magazine. The City of Calgary presents films about urban planning and has discussions afterwards. In my documentary festival post last year I neglected to mention this one because I wasn't sure if it was going to happen. Back in 2014 it was supposed to be a one time thing; however due to its popularity here we are three years later.

All the films are screened at the John Dutton Theatre at the Calgary Public Library on January 13th, January 20th, February 3rd, and February 10th. Doors open at 5:30 PM.

JANUARY 13, 2016 - The Pruitti-Igoe Myth
JANUARY 20, 2016 (followed by Transportation talk) - Make No Little Plans: Daniel Burnham and the American City | E2: Portland: A Sense of Place
FEBRUARY 3, 2016 - Chavez Ravine: A Los Angeles Story | Kochuu
FEBRUARY 10, 2016 - Sprawling from Grace | Short Films

NOTE: The showtimes listed on CalgaryMovies.com come directly from the theatres' announced schedules, which are distributed to us on a weekly basis. All showtimes are subject to change without notice or recourse to CalgaryMovies.com.
