Join China's top adventure filmmakers and climbers for a night you will never forge! The evening will have three award winning Chinese films along with interviews with the filmmakers climbers, and presentations on rock, alpine and ice climbing and ski mountaineering in China.
Films
"Altay Wild Snow" - an adventure in the birthplace of human skiing in remote northwestern China - finalist at the Milan International FICTS FEST 2017.
"Searching for Christmas Tree" - an ice climbing epic that delves into the cultural transformation of China's current generation - finalist at the 2017 Banff and Kendall Mountain Film Festivals.
"Pilgrimage" - a documentary on the Buddhist pilgrimage around Mount Kailash - 2015 winner of the Gold Rhino award for Best Outdoor Film in China

Guest Speakers
Zhang Yun Ping, aka “Lie Feng ”, Filmmaker, Climber - Zhang is a geo-physicist by training and goes by the professional name of Lie Feng. He is one of China’s preeminent filmmakers for extreme sports. He is also a veteran climber with over 16 years of experience. His hardest sport climb repointed is China Climb(5.14a) in Yangshuo, China. He enjoys other forms of climbing too - trad, big wall, and ice. He lives in Yangshuo, China.
He Chuan, Alpinist - He Chuan is an iconic big wall climber in China and the only big wall soloist. He keeps pushing the limits of ice climbing and alpinism on some of the hardest five thousand meter mountains in China for more than a decade. He has won numerous climbing awards and his achievement and spirit encourages more and more younger generation to explore and face the challenges. He spent two winters ice climbing in the Canadian Rockies in 2015 and 2016. He is an Optical and Electronic teacher of Beijing Institute of Technology. He lives in Beijing.
Zhou Peng, Alpinist - Zhou Peng is among the new generation of top Alpinists in China. He has an impressive list of accomplishments on technically challenging five and six thousand meter peaks, many of them first ascents and new lines. He won Piolets d’Or Asia award together with Li Shuang in 2012 for their first ascents in Sichuan. He is technical advisor to Chinese Mountaineering Association (CMA) and teaches rock climbing, ice climbing and mountaineering.
Li Shang Filmmaker, Climber - Li’s passion is climbing and documentary filmmaking. Her passion brings her to the top of numerous mountains and new routes in China and around the world. Her adventure spirit keeps her looking for unclimbed peaks and new challenges. She is the first Chinese woman to summit an unclimbed seven-thousand-meter peak in Tibet and ski down in 2014. She is also one of the few female adventure filmmakers in the world. She lives in Beijing with her husband Zhou Peng.
Asu Filmmaker, Skier - A filmmaker, a director and photographer, and a mountaineer and skier. One characteristic that defines Asu is his hair style, which looks like crisp, cold air whipped through his head while he was speeding down an untracked mountain slope. He has random-sized, mid-length locks that stand out in haphazard directions from his head. It is a look that catches the essence of Asu’s free spirit and the soul of film making. Asu lives 20% of his time in Beijing, and the rest everywhere.
Raf Andronowski, Climber - An avid climber based in the Canadian Rockies, Raf is also the founder and owner of Alpine Start, a website based service to provide climbing gear information. Raf climbed at Shuang Qiao Gou in 2016, an ice climbing destination in China.
