Crowsnest Hall, Multipurpose Room
- University of Calgary, 250 Collegiate Blvd NW
FREE

Film Synopsis: Through an intimate and artistic lens, Milk brings a universal perspective on the politics, commercialization and controversies surrounding birth and infant feeding over the canvas of stunningly beautiful visuals and poignant voices from around the globe. Inspiring, informative, provocative and sensitive, Milk celebrates bringing a new life into this world with a strong call to action and reflection.

This is a free event open to all members of the public; children are welcome.

The Documentary & Discussion Series seeks to normalize controversial or topical issues into everyday conversations, facilitate increased awareness, and encourage respectful exchange of perspectives. Each event involves an on-campus screening (open to the campus and Calgary community), followed by a reflective and interactive discussion among the audience about what they learned from the film. We aim to have 3-4 topic experts at each event to provide insight and guide our conversation. This series is hosted by the University of Calgary Graduate College with funding from the Graduate Students' Association.

5:30-5:50pm - Arrival and registration, help yourself to some refreshments and mingle with other guests.
5:50-6:00pm - Opening remarks and a word from our event partners.
6:00-7:30pm - Milk screening.
7:30-8:00pm - Small group breakout discussions, followed by a full audience discussion about perspectives on the film. Infant feeding experts will be available to answer audience questions and provide insight.
