To celebrate Chinese New Year, we bring you 4 short films from Hong Kong. Treasured with distinct cultural heritage, Hong Kong is an international city in Asia. Its complex culture was emerged from the political history. Initially controlled by empirical China, Hong Kong was colonized by the British, and now transiting into the hands of communist China. All happened between 1800s and 1900s. The culture from East and West are compressed into the highly densed city. Calling it melting pot, East meets West or fusion city, Hong Kong's art and culture are meshed with diversity, aestheticity and creativity. The place have brewed some of the great directors like Wong Kar-wai (Lumières Award), John Woo (Face/Off, MI2)...etc. All films are subtitled in English. And to spice up the event, there will be traditional Lion Dance performance as well.
